Walking Banana Sundae
We found this recipe in an old, kid's cookbook from the 1970's but they used Mayo as the glue.
We prefer vanilla yogurt.

You will need:
bananas, vanilla yogurt or vanilla pudding, 1/4 c. chopped peanuts or 1/4 chocolate pieces or 1/4 crushed graham crackers, spoon, and wooden popsicle sticks. Makes 2.

Peel a banana and cut it in half. Put a wooden stick in each banana half. With your spoon, spread yogurt or pudding lightly on banana. Roll the banana in a plate of chopped peanuts, chocolate pieces, graham cracker crumbs or all three for extra 'Yum'!

Make sure you read some silly monkey books afterward.

Ummm, YUM! Can we freeze it?
ReplyDeleteYes! Just place them in individual baggies - Frozen Banana Pops - even better!

I've seen those before. My kids like bananas, but I'm still not sure they would eat them like that.
ReplyDeleteMy son doesn't like bananas and he eats these. I found an old recipe from the 1970's that used mayo to attach granola cereal and searched fro alternative - he wouldn't eat a mayo covered banana for sure :-)
ReplyDeleteThis looks yummy. My son loves Curious George and I bet he would love this treat too.

@JDaniel4's Mom - Yes, I forgot that part wasn't mentioned we read a pre-school book about Monkey's and counting. I'll go look it up and list the title here later - it is great for pre-schoolers. I did these at Summer Camp too. I bet my after-schoolers would have fun with this - I think I'll add that to the agenda!
