This versatile craft can be used as a tambourine when singing jingle bells, a Christmas Tree Ornament, door knob decoration, or an actual bracelet for kids.

It is a fun craft to do at a Retirement Village too. Choosing the colors and listening to the jingling of the bell is fun for everyone.

Preschool Craft: Jingle Bell Tambourine Wreath.

Mayhem made the tambourine above in preschool class. They used a plastic bracelet, strips of holiday quilting scraps, and a silver bell (look right, center.)

We loved the idea so much that we wanted to create our own, but we only had holiday ribbons. So we cut the ribbons in 4-6" strips.

For our ring, we purchased a door knob jingle bell decoration from dollar tree, but any bracelet will do. Our ring had a strip of bells attached to a leather strip. We cut it, leaving only one jingle bell.

Then, we simply tied our ribbons around the ring with a single knot in the center. After that, we pulled both sides of the ribbon outside the ring to form a wreath. No sew. No glue. So, easy!

If you want to make it look like a traditional wreath, use green ribbons and fabric, paint your jingle bells red, and glue or tie them onto the wreath.

Our ribbons all had texture- which gives the wreath activity a tactile, sensory element.

When your wreath is complete, gather your group together and sing a round of JINGLE BELLS with Musical Accompaniement. :)

How to make a rocket popper from a cardboard toilet roll tube:

Paint or decorate Toilet Tubes as desired. Set one tube aside. Cut second tube up middle, vertically. Fold over, and tape so it is slightly smaller than the other tube. Attach a large, craft stick to the outside of the smaller tube. Trace the larger tube onto construction paper, and cut out the circle. Glue paper circle with glue-stick to top of tube. Do not use hot glue! This needs to easily pop off.

Cut a strip of paper 2-3" wide and wrap around bottom of larger tube, attaching with glue stick or hot glue. Cut triangle shapes in paper to resemble the bottom of a rocket. Make a cone out of construction paper (measured to fit top of tube) attach with tape. Insert confetti, un-blown balloons, candy, or feathers into tube. Insert smaller tube on stick into base of larger tube.

Deep Discount Bat Craft Turns into Bargain Turkey Craft.

I got these bats at Michael's on clearance for 29 Cents! The turkey kits were $1.79 each. My creative juices were flowing. I thought about dividing them and doing a fall barn owl now and saving the bat for next year, but when I got home a light bulb went off in my head. So, I sorted the pieces and decided to make a turkey critter and a bat fridge magnet

Tacky Glue works better than Elmer's Glue. Hot glue is best for allowing the wings to stick out at the sides.

Look for cheap foamy rectangles or construction paper and cut out the shapes seen here. Buy a bag of feathers, pom-poms, some googly-eyes, and get crafting. All of those items are at the Dollar Tree too.

Make Pipe cleaner Sparkly Spirals for your Christmas Tree: Fun for preschoolers

Everyone can make these fun, easy pipe cleaner spiral ornaments for your tree even preschoolers

It's beginning to look a lot like CHRISTMAS all around our house! There's a tree in the Liv-ing room... A Santa on the mantle... And the Snow is expected very soon. So, we made Christmas Tree Ornaments from Pipecleaners. Enjoy!

Easy pipecleaner craft - make holiday decorations.
I have a gorgeous 9' Tree that I bought one-hundred years ago when I was much younger and less wiser :-) Last year, it ended up on the floor several times due to toddlers or my blind cat who likes to climb it. This year we bought a Wal-mart Special. My grandmother always had a white tree. I remember thinking (even back then) maybe its a bit tacky.

Yesterday's tacky is today's classy?

Well, maybe not...
But I miss my grandma and her Tacky Tree.

White Christmas Tree with Lights.
White Christmas Tree with Lights.
I like it, I really like it! The kids love it. The downfall is lights are on green strands that scream out 'ugly' to me. I am sure I will spend the next few days trying to camouflage them as I discreetly re-hang the ornaments that the kid's spent the afternoon happily placing on the bottom of the tree.

It is very endearing with my Sesame Street Carolers hanging from the lower branches as it sits on a table in hope to avoid the blind cat. The new kitten isn't as easily fooled. He keeps batting a Big Bird. We suspect he might have sprayed it too.  I'm glad he approves.

So, you ask, what's the craft, lady? It is unbelievably SIMPLE. On my last trip  to the Dollar store to purchase UNBREAKABLE ornaments, I found sparkly, green pipe cleaners.

I speculated braiding them into mini-wreaths or garlands. The sparkly green looks nice with the white tree. After we put the tree up those green wires me. I contemplated covering them with garland or ribbons while I distractedly wrapped a pipe cleaner around my finger. Of course, you can wrap them around a pencil too.

My son wanted the cool, slinky-like spiral. So, I bent one end into a hanger shape and he placed them on the tree-  faster than I could make them.

They don't break! If Mr. Tigger bats them down, c'est la vie, they probably cost a penny a piece. The perfect, artsy-adornment for my tacky tree... Tacky Ornaments. Cute! Fun! Spirals!

My favorite art form - perhaps even my trademark. Choose lots of primary colors for green trees.
